"Social Innovation
Capital (White Paper)"
This paper introduces the notion
of 'social innovation capital,' a form of intellectual capital
(IC) that accounts for the production and integration of new
knowledge in business. Unlike other forms of IC which tend to
focus on intellectual property or other intangible 'outcomes,'
social innovation capital focuses on innovation-related social
processes as an important source of value. As McElroy puts it,
"The only thing more valuable than valuable intellectual
capital is the organizational capacity to produce it." This
paper was published in the Journal Of Intellectual Capital
in February, 2002.
